The mission of the Jefferson County Planning and Zoning Department is to promote responsible growth, protect public safety, and preserve the county's natural and built resources through effective planning, fair and consistent zoning administration, comprehensive floodplain management, and innovative Geographic Information Systems (GIS) mapping. We are committed to providing accurate information, fostering informed decision-making, supporting sustainable development, reducing flood risk, and delivering exceptional service to our residents, businesses, and partner agencies while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
